![]() ![]() ![]() Skanlite (it's possible that I installed this one in a former attempt to set up the scanner) similarly fails to detect any scanner and shows a "Sorry, no devices found" message. XSane opens the same device dialog I launched from GIMP, with the same result. So I went to the Application Launcher and typed "scan". One item is "Input Devices", technically a scanner is an input device, so I tried that, but as I suspected, it's not there. So first I went to System Settings but there's nothing there related to scanners. (oh for ****'s sake I can't copy and paste images here? Oh, I can upload only one attachment? Ok, I'll attach screenshot later. I open GIMP, I go to File -> Create -> "XSane - device dialog."Ī small popup shows up saying "Scanning for devices", and a few seconds later Actually I seem to remember that at some point I was able to scan something, but I'm not sure, and if I did, I can't anymore. However, I can't get the scanner to work. #SCANGEAR TOOL DOESN FIND SCANNER TRIAL#On OpenSUSE, I managed to get the printer part to work (I don't remember how either, but NOTHING automated worked, I had to assign it a fixed IP and then somewhere I set up things manually and managed to have it work after a lot of trial and error - there's another bug report of mine about that). I don't remember how I did it, but it was easy. I have had it for a few years, and on Ubuntu it was easy to get it regognized by the system and use it, both as a printer and as a scanner. I have a network printer-scanner, a Canon Pixma MG3650, connected to the same wifi network as my computer. ![]()
